I am Chief Hon. Olayinka Segelu — a voice of progress, servant of the people, and a proud son of Oyo State. From my earliest days, I’ve carried the hopes and dreams of my community, drawing strength from heritage, service, and sacrifice. With deep humility, I step forward not only to lead but to uplift every voice longing for change.
Over the years, my journey has taken me through communities across Nigeria and onto international platforms. Yet, no matter where I go, I remain connected to the soil of Ibadan, to the heartbeats of the ordinary citizen, and to the promise that Oyo State must rise.
This is why I, Chief Olayinka Segelu, Aare Akinrogun of Igbo-Elerinland and Asiwaju Ilu of Olosunde Village and environs, step forward — not just to lead, but to serve.
He was installed by His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland as:
My late father, Hon. Olusegun Oladimeji Segelu, was a pillar of public service and grassroots development. His dedication to improving lives through political representation and entrepreneurial vision in Oyo State shaped my worldview from a young age. Despite his tragic assassination while serving the people of Akinyele/Lagelu, his legacy lives on in me.
Growing up in a polygamous home filled with purpose and values, I understood early on the value of unity and inclusion. My upbringing taught me compassion, resilience, and the essence of collective progress. These traits have remained at the core of my leadership journey.
I am a graduate of Political Science from the University of Abuja and hold multiple diplomas in Geology and Computer Engineering. I’ve served at the National Assembly and beyond — as a legislative aide, administrator, and entrepreneur. I am the founder of Y'Seg Group, with initiatives spanning education, tech, media, and social development.
With unshakable faith in God and deep connection to my people, I present myself to the people of Oyo State as a candidate who listens, learns, and leads with heart. My mission is to create a future that gives every youth, woman, and community a chance to flourish.
